Michael Collins, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a Corneal Specialist in Fort Myers and the Medical Director of Collins Vision where he provides diagnosis of dry eyes and treatment of dry eyes in Fort Myers. Dr. Collins received his Medical Degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at Emory University School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Collins completed a Fellowship in Corneal and Refractive Surgery at Hunkeler Eye Centers where he obtained extensive experience in evaluation of the eye surface and its diseases as well as in advanced clinical management techniques for dry eyes including biocompatible artifical tears and lubricant eye drops, punctal plugs and Restasis eye drops to help patients produce more of their own natural tears in order to eliminate dry eyes symptoms.
Dr. Collins is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, International Society for Refractive Surgery, Florida Society of Ophthalmology and Collier County Medical Society.Further, he is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and serves as a reviewer for the eye care journals, Journal of Refractive Surgery, and Cornea.
