Eric Donnenfeld, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a leader for LASIK in Suffolk County and recognized as the leading LASIK Surgeon for Suffolk County patients. Dr. Donnenfeld is a certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Donnenfeld participated in the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Clinical Trials to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of the Excimer Laser for Laser Eye Surgery as well 40 additional FDA Clinical Trials including the Verisyse™ Phakic Lens implant (IOL) for correcting extreme nearsightedness.

Dr. Donnenfeld received his Medical Degree at Dartmouth Medical School and completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York. Further, he attended a Fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Wills Eye Hospital. He is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at New York University Medical Center and is Co-Chairman of Cornea and External Disease at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. He has served as Program Director at Cornell-North Shore University Hospital on Long Island and serves on the Editorial Board of nine eye surgery journals and is the Surgical Director of the Lions Eye Bank for Long Island. He currently serves on the Executive Board of American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) and is the Chief Editor of the eye care journal Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today.

He has served as President of the Nassau Surgical Society, the Cornea Section of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the Ophthalmology Division of the Nassau Academy of Medicine, the International Ocular Microbiology and Immunology Group and he has served on the Board of Directors of the Nassau Academy of Medicine, the American College of Surgeons, Long Island Chapter, and the Nassau Surgical Society. He has been serving the medical, surgical and laser eye care needs of patients in the greater New York area for over 20 years. Dr. Donnenfeld also serves as the National and Long Island TLC Laser Eye Centers Medical Director.
