He has served as Program Director at Cornell-North Shore University Hospital on Long Island and serves on the Editorial Board of nine eye surgery journals and is the Surgical Director of the Lions Eye Bank for Long Island. He currently serves on the Executive Board of American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) and is the Chief Editor of the eye care journal Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today.

He has served as President of the Nassau Surgical Society, the Cornea Section of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the Ophthalmology Division of the Nassau Academy of Medicine, the International Ocular Microbiology and Immunology Group and he has served on the Board of Directors of the Nassau Academy of Medicine, the American College of Surgeons, Long Island Chapter, and the Nassau Surgical Society.
